Boeing Directors Cleared of Safety Lapse Liability

A Delaware judge has dismissed a shareholder lawsuit against Boeing Co. directors over their handling of safety measures on its 737 Max 9 jets.

The lawsuit claimed that company directors ignored safety concerns before a door plug blew out on an Alaska Airlines-operated 737 Max 9 in 2024.

Judge Morgan Zurn ruled that the directors did not act in bad faith when overseeing management's steps to address safety issues, citing Delaware law.

Zurn wrote in his ruling: 'Delaware law does not hold corporate fiduciaries liable merely because a general risk materialized.'
