Boeing Discounts 737 MAX 10 by Up to 60% Amid Airbus Competition
Boeing's 737 MAX 10 has secured over 1,400 firm orders and many more options. The aircraft is well-positioned to capture a sizable market share once deliveries begin, given the enormous number of orders Boeing has secured.
The transaction price for the 737 MAX 10 has dropped to between $55 million and $75 million, representing a 40% to 60% discount off the list price. This strategy has clearly had some success, as airlines are willing to pay a premium for the aircraft despite the significant discount.
Airbus's A321neo is experiencing greater success in the market, which may be contributing to Boeing's desperation to maintain its market share. By offering deeper discounts and incentives, Boeing is attempting to incentivize larger orders from airlines.
