Boeing Dives into eVTOL Market with Archer Aviation Deal

Instruments
BA
Share

Boeing has sold three of its eVTOL and aerospace technology businesses to Archer Aviation for an equity stake. The deal, announced on August 10, gives Boeing a nearly 20% stake in Archer.

The sale includes Wisk, an eVTOL builder, Insitu, a drone maker, and SkyGrid, an air-traffic software company. In exchange, Boeing will receive newly issued shares and warrants in Archer.

This move marks the aerospace giant's continued efforts to divest non-core businesses and focus on its core operations. By merging these companies into Archer, Boeing turns what would be routine divestitures into opportunities for growth and innovation.
