Boeing Employees Unite for Community Impact with Skateboard Build
On August 5th, Boeing's Seal Beach facility became a hub of community impact when over 150 employees from various countries and sites volunteered for a special project. The event supported two non-profit organizations: Think Education and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley, both partners with Boeing Global Engagement.
The volunteers assembled 57 skateboards designed specifically for underserved youth, including those in foster care. These skateboards represented freedom, confidence, and joy, providing a meaningful mode of transportation and an opportunity to embrace fun and independence.
Rebecca Olea, Business Operations Analyst at St. Louis Paint & Production Equipment Maintenance, noted that the event allowed employees to 'dream big' and pursue future careers at Boeing. Randy Barth, Founder and CEO of Think Education, expressed gratitude for Boeing's investment in their students and communities, stating that support like this gives underserved youth access to experiences that can build confidence and open doors to STEM.
As part of its Boeing Backs America initiative, the company encourages employees to extend their impact beyond the workplace. With a goal of exceptional community impact by 2026, Boeing is creating new ways for teammates to volunteer and serve.
