Boeing Engineers Reject Contract Offer, Paving Way for Potential Strike

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), the union representing engineers and technical workers at Boeing, has overwhelmingly rejected the company's proposed four-year labor contract.

According to SPEEA's announcement, 64% of engineer members and approximately 72% of technical worker members voted against the tentative agreement. The union represents 17,000 members, making it Boeing's largest white-collar union.

The main point of contention was the proposed wage increases, which failed to keep pace with the high cost of living in the Seattle area and fell below competitor wage levels.
