Boeing Engineers Secure 10% Pay Raise in Tentative Labor Deal
Boeing and its engineers' union have reached a tentative labor agreement that includes a higher across-the-board wage increase than initially proposed. The four-year deal will benefit approximately 17,000 members of the Society of Professional Engineers in Aerospace (SPEEA) from both the professional and technical units.
The new contract offers a 10% pay raise on October 16, followed by annual 4% across-the-board raises and performance-based bonuses from 2027 to 2030. The union has also secured adjustments to remote-work policies and overtime caps for members of the professional unit.
SPEEA members play a crucial role in certifying Boeing's delayed models, including the 737 MAX 10 and 777-9. The current contract is set to expire on October 6, with a potential strike looming if an agreement cannot be reached.
