Boeing Engineers Union Pushes for Better Pay in Contract Talks
Boeing and its engineers' union are set to restart contract negotiations after talks stalled following workers' rejection of the company's latest offer.
The Society of Professional Engineering Employees Association (SPEEA) represents around 17,000 Boeing engineers and technical workers, who overwhelmingly rejected the company's contract offer last week.
A survey conducted by SPEEA found that larger, immediate guaranteed wage increases were members' top priority in negotiations, followed by more money for annual performance-based raises and improved annual cost-of-living adjustments.
According to the union, nearly 13,000 of its members participated in the survey, which highlights the importance of better pay and benefits in the ongoing contract talks.
