Boeing Faces Strike Uncertainty Amidst Contract Negotiations
Boeing shares have been under pressure due to news that engineers and technical workers rejected a four-year contract offer from the company. The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), which represents the workers, also voted to declare a strike when the current contract expires on October 6.
The contract proposal capped inflation-tied raises at 3%, but workers were seeking higher increases. With a six-week deadline looming, it's unclear how quickly an agreement will be reached between Boeing and its employees.
Despite the uncertainty, analysts believe that the two parties will eventually come to an agreement, given Boeing's strong backlog and focus on increasing aircraft production levels.
The potential pick-up point for Boeing shares is being eyed at $205-$210, but investors are advised to tread carefully due to upcoming market events, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's press conference and Nvidia's earnings report.
