Boeing Flight from Munich Dumps Fuel, Returns Safely After Technical Issue
A Vietnam Airlines flight from Munich to Hanoi experienced technical issues on August 15, forcing it to return to the airport after dumping fuel for over an hour.
The Boeing 787-9 took off at 1:45 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hanoi at 5:30 a.m. the next day, but shortly after takeoff, the crew announced that the plane needed to jettison fuel and return to Munich due to a technical issue.
Passengers were instructed to adopt the brace position as the plane prepared to land, and the aircraft made two low-altitude approaches before finally touching down safely. All 271 passengers on board were later sent to Hanoi by other flights.
