Boeing has paid a $3.1 million fine to settle charges of violating safety regulations.

The Associated Press reported that the fine was issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for failing to comply with federal safety standards.

The FAA cited Boeing for not properly documenting and reporting maintenance issues, which is a requirement under federal law.
