Boeing Hits 418 Deliveries Mid-Year Amid Slowdown in Dreamliner Shipments
Boeing's August delivery numbers have been released, showing a slight dip from July and last year. The company handed over 51 jets to customers in August, down from 57 in the same month last year.
The majority of these deliveries were Boeing's best-selling 737 MAX aircraft, with 41 units shipped out to customers. This included nine planes for Southwest Airlines, eight for United Airlines, and five for lessor AerCap.
In contrast, only four 787 Dreamliners were delivered in August, down from nine last year. Boeing has now handed over 54 of these aircraft so far this year, with a target of delivering between 90 to 100 by the end of the year. This would require an average of more than ten deliveries per month for the remaining four months.
