Boeing Invests Big in Regional Future with New Production Line
Boeing marked a significant milestone on July 10th with the grand opening of its new 737 North production line in Everett, Washington. This $1 billion investment is a testament to the company's commitment to its presence in the region and its employees.
The event featured a relay run from the Renton factory to the Everett factory, covering 31 miles. Mayors Cassie Franklin of Everett and Armondo Pavone of Renton participated in the run, symbolizing the partnership between their cities.
Boeing's history in the region dates back to 1941, with employees designing and manufacturing airplanes on the shores of Lake Washington in Renton. The company has been a driving force in the local economy, providing jobs for thousands of skilled aerospace workers.
According to Rebecah Reutimann, Co-Owner of Island Machine, 'When Boeing does well, we do well. We are proud to support Boeing as a second-tier supplier.'
Boeing's presence in the region has a ripple effect, benefiting local businesses and organizations. The company donated $3 million to non-profit organizations last year, with Mayor Franklin and Mayor Pavone expressing gratitude for these investments.
