Boeing Lands $131B Deal for F-15 Upgrades
The US Air Force has awarded Boeing Co. a massive contract worth $131.2 billion to produce and update F-15 fighter jets.
The 'F-15 Eagle Crest' contract allows the branch to stagger its order over time, instead of agreeing to buy a set number of planes.
The Air Force has the option to extend the contract until 2036, but it's not obligated to spend the full $131 billion.
In a statement, the Air Force said the contract offers flexibility to meet its needs and will help reduce administrative burden.
