Boeing Lands $131B Pentagon Contract for F-15 Production
Boeing has secured a massive contract from the U.S. Department of War for its F-15 fighter jet program, valued at up to $131.23 billion. The deal covers aircraft production, system integration, modernization, maintenance, and depot-level repair work through August 2037.
The F-15 Eagle Crest initiative includes provisions for Foreign Military Sales to seven countries: Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, and Poland. However, Polish officials have stated that no acquisition effort is currently underway for the F-15EX in the country.
Boeing's defense segment has faced challenges in recent years, but this contract is expected to provide long-term revenue visibility and add significantly to the company's backlog. The deal also includes a services component, aligning with Boeing's push to expand higher-margin service revenue as a counterweight to pressures in its commercial jet business.
The Pentagon's use of an IDIQ framework means that individual task orders will be issued over the contract's lifetime, each with its own scope and value. This structure gives the U.S. military flexibility while locking in Boeing as the sole-source provider for F-15 production and sustainment work through the mid-2030s.
