Boeing Lands Record Contract as Global Aviation Industry Shifts

American aerospace giant Boeing has secured a record contract worth $131.23 billion from the U.S. Department of War to sustain, modernize, and manufacture its F-15 fighter aircraft fleet.

The deal is one of the largest in recent memory and signals a long-term commitment by the U.S. government to maintain air superiority and modernize its military hardware.

Boeing's ambitions extend beyond military jets, with the company predicting that Africa's aircraft fleet will more than double over the next two decades, from 755 planes in 2025 to 1,625 by 2045.

The company estimates that 75,000 additional aviation workers will be needed across the continent, including 22,000 pilots, 25,000 technicians, and 28,000 cabin crew, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts from governments, airlines, and educational institutions.
