Boeing Offers Improved Contract Terms in Bid to Avert Strike
Boeing has made its second contract offer to the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) in three weeks, attempting to avert a potential strike by the union's members. The existing labor deal is set to expire on October 6.
The new offer includes a 10% Guaranteed Wage Increase (GWI) for all Prof and Tech unit-represented workers effective October 16, as well as a 4% GWI in March 2027. Additionally, the company has proposed a 6% annual wage pool for 2028, 2029, and 2030, with each year having a 4% guaranteed increase for all.
The SPEEA negotiation team is recommending that members accept the offer, citing improvements over the previous proposal. However, the union's rank-and-file members rejected the initial offer in August, leading to resumed negotiations and the current proposal.
