Boeing Posts Steady 737 MAX Deliveries Amid Decline in 787 Sales
Boeing delivered 51 planes in August, marking a decrease from its July total but remaining consistent with June's deliveries. The majority of these planes were Boeing's 737 MAX model, with 41 units delivered last month.
This number is similar to previous months, as the company handed over 39 MAXs in July and 42 in June. However, August marked a sharp drop for the 787 Dreamliner, with just four units delivered, down from 10 in July and 13 in June.
In comparison, Boeing delivered nine 787s during the same month last year. The company's spokesperson explained that monthly production and delivery rates do not always align, citing factors such as customer requirements for completion of tasks or delivery timing.
Boeing also reported a total of 15 gross orders in August, including two for the 737 MAX and 13 for the 787 Dreamliner. The company's commercial backlog decreased from 6,192 at the end of July to 6,156 at the end of August.
