Boeing Posts Stronger Deliveries in July Despite Decline in Widebody Sales

Boeing delivered 53 commercial aircraft in July, down from its record monthly total of 64 in June but up 10 percent from 48 aircraft handed over in the same month last year.

The drop is attributed to a decline in widebody deliveries, which fell to 14 from 21 in June. The 737 MAX accounted for the largest share of July deliveries with 39 aircraft, including 32 MAX 8s and seven MAX 9s. United Airlines received 10 of these aircraft.

Boeing's improved performance comes as it increases production of the 737 MAX. The company recently received approval to raise output from 42 to 47 aircraft per month and plans to reach 52 monthly units in early 2027. Despite this, Boeing remains behind Airbus, which delivered 67 aircraft in July.

Boeing's stronger deliveries contributed to positive free cash flow of $631 million in the second quarter, its first positive quarterly result on that measure since 2023.
