Boeing Secures Contract for Three More MQ-25A Stingrays
Boeing has secured a contract from the U.S. Navy to produce three more MQ-25A Stingray aircraft, bringing the total number of aircraft under contract to 14. The award is for Lot 1 of low-rate initial production (LRIP), with a second lot planned for 2027.
The MQ-25A Stingray is an unmanned aerial vehicle designed for carrier-based operations, and this order marks another step towards its introduction into naval aviation. Boeing's Derek Attwood said the award 'validates our team's hard work' and positions the company to deliver additional aircraft with critical capability to the Navy.
The transition from development to production is a significant milestone for the program, which includes 14 aircraft under contract so far. The U.S. Navy plans to use the MQ-25A Stingray for unmanned aerial refueling, extending the carrier air wing's reach and increasing its operational capabilities.
