Boeing Secures FAA Approval for 737-7 MAX, Paving Way for Commercial Service

Boeing has secured Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for its 737-7 MAX, paving the way for commercial service and deliveries to launch customer Southwest Airlines.

The FAA's approval marks a significant milestone for Boeing, concluding an extensive development, testing, and certification process that began in 2018 under a more rigorous regulatory framework.

To achieve certification, Boeing demonstrated compliance with all FAA safety standards through over 1,000 hours of flight and ground testing, comprehensive evaluations of the aircraft's systems, and human factors assessments.

Boeing also introduced enhancements to the engine anti-ice system after identifying a specific condition during the certification campaign.
