Boeing Sees 17% Drop in Jet Deliveries Amid Airbus Outpacing Rival

Boeing reported a significant drop in jet deliveries for July, delivering 53 aircraft compared to 64 in June. This decline marks a 17% decrease from the previous month's numbers.

The US planemaker trailed its European rival Airbus, which delivered 67 planes in July. Boeing also booked 30 new orders after adjusting for cancellations in July, with most of these orders announced during the Farnborough Airshow.

Notably, a major order from Irish leasing giant SMBC Aviation was initially reported as a significant boost to Boeing's numbers but was actually booked in June and not in July. The 737 MAX and 787 jets were among the models delivered in July, with Boeing handing over 39 of its best-selling 737 MAX jets and 10 787s.
