Boeing Sees Lowest Monthly Deliveries in Four Months
Boeing's production rate of commercial airplanes slowed down significantly in August, with the company delivering only 51 aircraft during the month. This represents a decline from the same period last year and marks its weakest monthly performance in four months.
The reduced delivery rate is largely attributed to a lower production rate of the 787 Dreamliner, which saw only four units delivered in August. In contrast, the 737 model accounted for 42 of the deliveries during the month, while several 777 and 767 airplanes were also handed over to customers.
This slowdown in deliveries puts Boeing at a volume similar to that of its competitor Airbus, which sent four fewer aircraft than a year ago. However, Boeing's annual total is still behind Airbus, with 418 deliveries so far this year compared to Airbus' 475. Despite this, Boeing has managed to outpace its previous performance from last year, with an 8% increase in deliveries.
