Boeing Sees Near-Ten Percent Year-Over-Year Delivery Growth Amid Production Rate Increases
Boeing delivered 53 commercial aircraft in July, marking a 17% decline from June's total of 64. However, this figure still represents an increase of almost 10% compared to last year's July deliveries.
The company's 737 MAX remained its top-selling product, with 39 deliveries including 32 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and seven Boeing 737 MAX 9s. The Dreamliner also saw significant activity, with ten handovers, comprising nine 787-9s and one 787-10.
Boeing's July delivery numbers are part of a broader trend of increased production rates for the company. Through seven months, Boeing has delivered 367 aircraft, including 279 MAXs and 50 Dreamliners. This represents an increase of almost 12% compared to last year's total at this point.
Despite these improvements, Boeing still lags behind its rival Airbus in terms of deliveries. Airbus handed over 67 aircraft in July, taking its seven-month total to 418 compared with Boeing's 367.
