Boeing Sells Autonomous Tech Subsidiaries to Archer Aviation

The Boeing Company has agreed to sell its subsidiaries Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu to Archer Aviation Inc. in a deal that will combine complementary capabilities developed over decades in autonomy, electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

The acquisition will create a groundbreaking end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense, bringing together nearly two million combined flight hours of expertise from the three companies.

Wisk has pioneered six generations of eVTOL aircraft, while SkyGrid has built a leading air traffic management solution. Insitu is a pioneer in designing, developing, and manufacturing UAS used in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.
