Boeing Sells eVTOL Subsidiaries to Archer, Acquires Minority Stake
Boeing has reached an agreement to sell its three eVTOL subsidiaries - Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Isitu - to Archer Aviation in exchange for a minority stake. The deal will grant Boeing a 19.75% share of Archer's Class A common stock and give the company options to acquire additional shares over the next four years. This partnership aims to create an end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense, centered on collaboration and technology-sharing.
The transaction is expected to enable Archer Aviation to accelerate its eVTOL development and commercialization efforts. The agreement also reflects Boeing's commitment to investing in emerging technologies and expanding its presence in the eVTOL market.
Archer Aviation will now take over the operations of Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Isitu, which were previously owned by Boeing. This move is expected to create a more streamlined and efficient process for developing and commercializing eVTOL aircraft.
