Boeing Shares Rise Despite August Delivery Slowdown
Boeing's August delivery numbers fell short of last year's level, but investors didn't seem fazed. The company delivered 51 aircraft in August, down from 10.5% compared to this time last year and 3.8% fewer than the July total.
The breakdown shows that Boeing shipped 41 737 MAX jets but only four 787 Dreamliners, a significant drop from nine Dreamliners delivered in August 2025. The company has now handed over 54 Dreamliners this year and is sticking to its target of 90-100 deliveries.
Boeing's quarterly free cash flow came in at $631 million despite sitting on a record $715 billion backlog. The market seems willing to write off the August slowdown as a timing issue, but there's limited room for error given Boeing's valuation is already 1.87% above its GF Value estimate of $211.13.
The next four months will be crucial in proving that Boeing's delivery engine is accelerating. With an average of over ten deliveries per month needed to hit the midpoint of the target, there's a pressing need for the company to execute on this plan.
