Boeing Slapped with US$3.1 Million Fine for Widespread Safety Violations
Boeing has paid a US$3.1 million fine to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for widespread safety violations.
The fines were related to several incidents, including a 2024 Alaska Airlines MAX 9 mid-air emergency where four key bolts on the plane's engine were missing.
The FAA had initially sought the full amount in September 2025 but Boeing paid it earlier this year in January, keeping the fine undisclosed until now.
Additionally, Boeing was fined for interfering with safety officials' independence and presenting aircraft that were not airworthy to the agency for approval.
