Boeing Stock Declines Amid Broader Market Weakness
Boeing Co.'s stock declined Monday due to a broader risk-off move that affected industrial stocks. The company's shares fell less than 1%, while the S&P 500 dropped 0.63% and the Nasdaq declined 1.04%. This decline appears tied to market weakness rather than any company-specific issues.
Despite this, Boeing continues to expand its support for the 737 MAX. The company announced that it had completed the first landing gear exchange with American Airlines Group Inc., a milestone in its Landing Gear Exchange Program.
This program allows airlines an alternative to buying and storing costly spare landing gear, reducing aircraft downtime and inventory costs. Boeing plans to increase global availability by expanding overhaul capacity and partnering with certified maintenance providers.
From a technical perspective, Boeing's stock remains below its major moving averages. The 20-day simple moving average is about 1.5% lower than the current price, while the 50-day SMA is roughly 4.4% lower. The MACD also sits below its signal line, indicating weak momentum.
