Boeing Stock Rises as Investors Overlook Weak August Delivery Numbers
Boeing's stock price rose by approximately 1.3% to $215.075 on Tuesday, despite delivering 51 aircraft in August, which is a decrease of 11% compared to last year's level. The company shipped 41 737 MAX jets but only four 787 Dreamliners, down from nine in August 2025. Boeing has now delivered 54 Dreamliners this year and aims to hit its target of 90 to 100.
The delivery of widebody aircraft is crucial for Boeing's cash recovery, as the company produced only $631 million in quarterly free cash flow despite having a record $715 billion backlog. Investors seem willing to overlook the slowdown, but the valuation leaves limited room for error: Boeing's share price stands 1.87% above its GF Value estimate of $211.13.
The next four months will be critical for Boeing as it tries to accelerate the delivery of widebody aircraft and turn confidence into actual results. To hit its target, the company needs to deliver an average of more than ten Dreamliners per month over the final four months.
