Boeing Strengthens Pilot Training with Thailand Amid Southeast Asia's Air Traffic Boom

Boeing has partnered with Thailand's Civil Aviation Authority to strengthen pilot training in Southeast Asia. The region is expected to see significant growth in air traffic, with an estimated 66,000 new pilots needed over the next 20 years.

The partnership involves Boeing's 'Competency-Based Training and Assessment Learning Library' (CBTA), a proprietary solution designed to enhance pilot competencies and increase training efficiency. This marks the first time a regulatory body has adopted CBTA for its entire aviation ecosystem.

Thai flight schools will now have direct access to learning materials, allowing them to better prepare cadets for careers in airlines. Boeing's vice president, Chris Broom, emphasized that this collaboration is crucial for equipping trainee pilots with the skills needed to operate safely and efficiently in today's complex aviation environment.

This initiative aims to address the growing demand for skilled pilots in Southeast Asia, where air traffic is expected to increase significantly in the coming years. By providing high-quality training resources, Boeing and Thailand's Civil Aviation Authority are working together to ensure that the region's airlines have access to well-trained pilots.
