Boeing Union Talks Resume Amid Strike Threat

Negotiators from Boeing and its largest white-collar union will meet Monday to discuss a contract that union members rejected last week.

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees Association (SPEEA) has roughly 17,000 members who are engineers and technical workers. In a recent survey by SPEEA, these employees expressed several key demands: larger and immediate guaranteed wage increases from Boeing, more money for annual performance-based raises, and better annual cost-of-living adjustments.

A work stoppage could further delay the 737 MAX 10 and 777-9 aircraft certifications. Both planes are already behind schedule, with airlines waiting for delivery.
