Boeing Union Votes Down Contract Offer, Demands Immediate Pay Hike

Boeing and its largest union of engineering and technical employees are set to resume contract talks on Monday after workers overwhelmingly rejected the company's proposed terms.

The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), which represents about 17,000 Boeing employees, announced the upcoming meeting. The union includes engineers and technical specialists who were dissatisfied with the contract offer.

A survey conducted by the SPEEA showed that workers consider a larger and immediate guaranteed pay increase to be their top priority. This was followed by increased funding for annual performance-based pay raises and improved cost-of-living salary adjustments. Nearly 13,000 union members participated in the survey.
