Boeing White-Collar Union Rejects Contract Offer
Boeing's white-collar union has rejected its four-year contract offer. The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) said members voted to reject the terms, which were seen as better than expected by some engineers and technical workers.
The contract expires on October 7, and union officials have given their negotiation team the power to declare a strike if negotiations last that long. Members overwhelmingly approved this move in a vote.
A spokesperson for the union said they plan to survey members immediately to determine what it will take to approve a contract with Boeing.
