Boeing's 737-7 Aircraft Receives FAA Certification
Boeing's 737-7 aircraft has received certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), clearing the way for its first deliveries to customers. The FAA granted Boeing an amended type certificate and updated the company's production certificate to include the new model.
The certification concludes a program that began in 2018, involving over 1,000 hours of flight and ground testing, as well as extensive system safety analyses and human factors reviews.
According to Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, 'This important certification validates the rigor of our airplane's design and recognizes the determination and resilience of our 737 MAX development team.'
The 737-7 is designed for shorter ranges, typically seating between 135 and 160 passengers in a two-class configuration. It can fly up to 3,800 nautical miles, positioning it for airlines that need a smaller single-aisle aircraft with longer-range capabilities.
