Boeing's 737 MAX 7 Cleared for Flight After Multi-Year Effort

Boeing's new 737 'MAX 7' jetliner has received clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to begin flights. The certification comes after a multi-year effort by Boeing, which faced setbacks and scrutiny following two deadly crashes involving 737 MAX jets.

The FAA's approval validates the design of the airplane and recognizes the work of Boeing's development team, according to Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Boeing manufactures much of the fuselage for its commercial jets at its Wichita facility. However, the company did not specify if the certification will mean more work in Wichita.
