Boeing's 737 MAX 7 Wins FAA Approval After Decade of Delays

The FAA has granted approval to Boeing's 737 MAX 7 aircraft after nearly a decade of delays and extensive safety reviews.

The aircraft features several key improvements, including updated flight-control software and a redesigned engine anti-ice system. The changes are intended to provide pilots with clearer information and prevent engine inlets from overheating.

The certification was delayed due to the 2018 and 2019 fatal crashes of the MAX 8 aircraft, which killed 346 people. Boeing faced scrutiny after a January 2024 mid-air cabin panel blowout on a new Alaska Airlines MAX 9.
