Boeing is currently working on certifying its 737 MAX 7 and 10 variants, as well as the 777-9. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has prioritized the certification of these aircraft, with the 737 MAX 7 expected to be certified by the end of the summer season in 2026.

The 737 MAX 7 and 10 have faced significant delays, with initial delivery dates set for 2019 and 2020 respectively. However, Boeing has provided a revised timeline, with certification expected for both variants before the end of 2026. The FAA's heightened scrutiny following the grounding of the 737 MAX in 2019 has contributed to these delays.

The main challenge facing the certification of the 737 MAX 7 and 10 is the anti-ice system, which was found to be defective in 2023. Boeing completed redesigns for the system in November 2025, paving the way for certification.
