Boeing's Archer Deal Sparks Hope for Space Asset Shedding
Boeing Co.'s recent deal with Archer should serve as a model for shedding space assets, says Thomas Black.
The company's outlook for earning copious cash flow is bright, driven almost entirely by a rebound in commercial aircraft production. In just two years under the leadership of CEO Kelly Ortberg, Boeing has righted the ship on manufacturing chaos that had plagued the planemaker for years.
This turnaround has been impressive enough for the Federal Aviation Administration to trust Boeing again to self-certify aircraft. Boeing now aims to earn $10 billion in cash earnings per year, a significant milestone after years of losses.
