Boeing's Aurora Flight Sciences Expands Mississippi Facility
Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing company, marked a major milestone in its expansion at its Mississippi manufacturing site. The grand opening of the new facility took place on August 19, 2026, with state leaders and community partners in attendance.
The expansion adds nearly 50,000 sq. ft. of new space and renovates 40,000 sq. ft. of existing space at the site, which now spans over 170,000 sq. ft. The facility is equipped with advanced automation equipment, robotics, machining capabilities, and non-destructive inspection technologies.
Aurora's Mississippi operation manufactures composite components and assemblies for various aircraft, including the MQ-25A Stingray unmanned aerial refueler, military helicopters, business jets, and spacecraft.
The company plans to increase its workforce by over 30 percent within the next four years, from approximately 120 employees currently on-site. Aurora offers training programs for local individuals joining the team, supported by partnerships with Mississippi State University, East Mississippi Community College, and regional career technical centers.
