Boeing's Commercial Aircraft Deliveries Slow Down in July

Boeing's momentum in delivering commercial aircraft has slowed down significantly after reaching its highest total for the first six months of the year since 2018. In July, Boeing announced that it had delivered 53 planes to customers, a decrease from the previous month when it handed over 64 aircraft. This latest figure puts Boeing behind its rival Airbus, which delivered 67 planes in the same month.

According to recent data, in the first seven months of this year, Boeing has delivered 367 planes, while Airbus has delivered 418. In comparison, during the same period last year, Boeing had delivered 328 jets. Boeing's strong performance earlier in the year was attributed to its positive June and May delivery totals, with 64 and 60 aircraft handed over to customers respectively.

The US-based manufacturer will likely be hoping to return to its previous momentum in August, with some of its notable deliveries including Somon Air's first 737 MAX and AerCap taking possession of nine 737 MAXs and one 787-9. Other customers such as Air India, Lufthansa, Korean Air, Riyadh Air, and United Airlines also received brand new 787-9 Dreamliners.
