Boeing's Delivery Pace Hits a Snag as Widebody Output Slows

Boeing's August deliveries came in at 51 commercial aircraft, down from July's 53 and about 11% below last year's 57 jets.

The company remains on track for its strongest first eight months of deliveries since 2018, with a total of 418 aircraft shipped through August, the highest January-to-August tally in eight years.

However, the 737 MAX family continued to anchor the delivery pipeline, accounting for 41 of the month's 51 handovers. The widebody output, on the other hand, told a different story with just four 787 Dreamliners delivered in August, down from nine in the same period last year.

A Boeing spokesperson said the lighter Dreamliner month was not due to production disruptions, supply chain constraints, or certification hurdles.
