Boeing's MAX 10 Delivery Delay Hits 88% of United Orders
The Boeing Company's MAX 10 delivery schedule has been pushed back, affecting 88% of United Airlines' firm orders. The airline now expects to receive 147 out of its 167 committed jets after 2027.
Boeing shares lost 7.5% last week due to labor and certification risks. The company's largest customer for the MAX 10 is facing a delivery gap, making certification timing a cash-flow issue rather than just a regulatory milestone.
The Boeing MAX 10 program has completed its planned flight testing, logging over 976 flights and more than 2,060 flight hours. However, final development reviews and safety assessments are still pending before FAA approval.
Boeing's stock price dropped to $214.20 on August 21, down 7.54% from August 14. The company is now facing a new labor challenge as engineers and technical workers rejected their contract offers, potentially leading to a strike after October 6.
