Booking Holdings Touts Resilience Amid Global Uncertainty
Booking Holdings presented at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference in September 2026, showcasing its resilience and growth amidst geopolitical pressure. The company's chief executive, Ivan, emphasized that Booking has evolved from a transactional platform to a sophisticated marketplace, where two-thirds of traffic now comes directly to its site.
Despite the Middle East conflict affecting travel behavior and airline economics in the second quarter of 2026, Booking held up well. Demand weakened in March through May before rebounding in June as travelers kept summer plans.
The company highlighted several growth areas, including alternative accommodations, flights, attractions, rental cars, rideshare, and restaurants. Connected Trip is a low double-digit percentage of transactions but growing faster than single bookings.
