Boyz II Men, WAR, and Yacht Rock Revue Close Out California State Fair Weekend
California's State Fair is closing out its final weekend with a trio of performances that showcase three distinct generations and styles of music. On Friday, R&B legends Boyz II Men take the stage at Cal Expo as part of the Toyota Concert Series on the Sky River Casino Stage. With over 60 million albums sold worldwide, the group has become one of the most commercially successful and influential R&B groups of all time.
The trio, consisting of Nathan Morris, Wanyá Morris, and Shawn Stockman, will perform a range of their iconic hits, including 'Motownphilly', 'End of the Road', and 'I'll Make Love to You'. Their music has remained a staple at weddings, graduations, and other milestone celebrations for over three decades.
On Saturday, funk and soul band WAR takes the stage, bringing with them 5 decades of musical history. Formed in Southern California in the late 1960s, WAR created a unique sound that blended multicultural influences and socially conscious lyrics. Their hits 'Low Rider', 'Why Can't We Be Friends?', and 'The Cisco Kid' are sure to get the crowd moving.
The weekend will conclude on Sunday with Yacht Rock Revue, an Atlanta-based group that has transformed soft-rock favorites from the late 1970s and early 1980s into a full-scale concert experience. Expect polished recreations of songs by Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, and more.
