BPD Seeks Public's Help Identifying Gas Thief in Gosford Road Home Depot Parking Lot

The Bakersfield Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect accused of stealing gas from a vehicle. The incident occurred on August 28th, 2026, at around 10:15 p.m., when the suspect was caught on video surveillance crawling under the victim's vehicle and puncturing the gas tank.

The vehicle was parked in the Home Depot parking lot on Gosford Road. Police described the suspect as a man in his 30s with a slim build, wearing a blue baseball hat, white t-shirt, green or gray shorts, and blue athletic shoes.
