Brian Dyson: A Life of Vision and Leadership

Brian Dyson, the former Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of The Coca-Cola Company, passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 90 due to respiratory complications from pneumonia.

Dyson's life was marked by his deep connection to his beginnings in Argentina, where he grew up on a family farm. He attended boarding school in Buenos Aires and later studied at Harvard Business School after completing compulsory military service.

Dyson joined The Coca-Cola Company in 1959 and held various leadership positions throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and the United States. In 1978, he was named President of Coca-Cola North America and Senior Vice President of The Coca-Cola Company.

A change agent and multidimensional strategist, Dyson became known for his ability to balance short-term needs with long-term vision. He played a central role in creating Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) and its subsequent public offering, which was one of the largest in U.S. history at the time.
