Broadcom's Kyndryl Partnership Aims to Secure AI-Ready Private Clouds

Broadcom (NasdaqGS: AVGO) has expanded its partnership with Kyndryl to focus on secure, AI-ready private and hybrid cloud solutions built on VMware Cloud Foundation.

The companies plan to deliver consulting services that help enterprises address operational complexity, regulatory compliance, and security risks linked to AI adoption. To support this effort, Broadcom and Kyndryl are investing in training thousands of consultants to handle customer modernization, AI governance, and cyber resilience in VCF environments.

This partnership strengthens the Narrative's software pillar, which suggests that VMware can shift more of Broadcom's business toward recurring, higher margin software rather than one-off chip sales. However, it does not resolve concerns around customer concentration and high debt that analysts already flag as risks.

The success of this partnership depends on enterprises choosing VMware-based private and hybrid setups over rival stacks from Microsoft or Amazon. Additionally, Broadcom needs to demonstrate that AI governance and cyber recovery services translate into durable, broad-based adoption beyond early flagship wins.
