Brothers Attack Uber Eats Driver Over Late McDonald's Delivery
Two brothers from Chatham were sentenced to community orders after they viciously attacked an Uber Eats delivery driver because their McDonald's burgers took too long to arrive.
The incident occurred on January 13 at 3:20 am, when Stephen Onwuegbule, the driver, arrived at the home of Charlie Campbell, 21, and Tyler Campbell, 23. The brothers were unhappy with the delivery time and became aggressive towards Onwuegbule.
According to prosecutor Alan Balneaves, both brothers surrounded Onwuegbule and attacked him until he was pushed to the floor. They continued to punch him until they split his lip and left his eye bloodshot.
The brothers were later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) and appeared in Medway Magistrates' Court on August 27. They admitted their guilt in June, when pre-sentencing reports were ordered.
