BTC Buys 60 iPhones Today, a 5,400% Jump Since 2011
Apple's latest iPhone Duo is a $2,000 foldable phone that has left many in awe. But amidst all the fanfare, an interesting statistic caught the attention of market commentator Master of Crypto. Since 2011, one Bitcoin (BTC) used to buy around 0.9 iPhones. Today, however, it can purchase 60 iPhone Pro Maxes.
The BTC-iPhone ratio has undergone a remarkable transformation over the years. In 2016, one Bitcoin was equivalent to just 1.1 iPhones. Fast forward to today, and that number has skyrocketed by nearly 5,400%.
Apple's new iPhone Duo has also caught the attention of cryptocurrency companies. Coinbase celebrated the launch with a post on its social media channels, jokingly saying 'Finally, a phone that fits last month's candle.' Gemini, another prominent crypto exchange, confirmed that its services are compatible with Apple's new smartphone.
Former Binance CEO CZ even chimed in, saying the iPhone Duo is 'pretty good for charting.'
