Buffett at 96: Apple Remains Top Holding in Berkshire Hathaway's Portfolio
Warren Buffett, the renowned investor and philanthropist, turned 96 on August 30. He is known as the 'Oracle of Omaha' for his shrewd investment decisions over the years.
Buffett's long-standing investment vehicle, Berkshire Hathaway, has delivered remarkable returns since its inception in 1965. It achieved a compounded annual gain of 19.7 per cent until 2025, outperforming the S&P 500's 10.5 per cent annualised return.
Berkshire Hathaway's latest Form 13F filing, dated May 15, 2026, reveals its top five stock holdings. Apple remains the largest holding, with Berkshire owning approximately $57.84 billion worth of shares, accounting for around 22 per cent of its reported portfolio.
The company also holds significant stakes in American Express, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, and Chevron. Buffett's investment philosophy focuses on large, blue-chip companies with strong balance sheets and appealing valuations.
